KTR Performance/Motorsports

KTR Motorsports is one of the premier automotive restoration shops in the Northeast. From the beginning 30 years ago, company founder John Geils, from the J.Geils Band was able to use the money from his band to fund his passion of servicing and restoring Ferrari's. When Bob Gett took over ownership in 1997, he branched the company out into servicing and restoring some of the most expensive and rare road and racecars from around the world, not just Ferrari's. Also, KTR has begun to provide all services to the tuner market and late model performance vehicles.

Around KTR, one of the most common sights aside from the menagerie of priceless Ferrari's and other exotics are vintage racecars. One of KTR's most time consuming businesses is prepping and servicing vintage racers. Many of KTR's customers go multiple weekends out of the year to vintage races from the beautiful Lime Rock Park to the one of the biggest vintage races in Monterey, California. While people may think that vintage racing, like most other racing series, is very aggressive and hardcore. If you've ever actually been to one, you will wee the exact opposite. Updates - Honda Ridgeline

Honda has always been known for their innovative ideas for advancing the common automobile. From the original Accord to the 1998 Insight, Honda has been changing the modern car for the betterment of you and your world. The new Ridgeline is no different. While it may look like another copy of the quasi-pickup/SUV design, with a closer look, you will find many unique features that may distract the average pickup truck buyer from it's Honda badges.

First, the Ridgeline's bed has proved something very worthy of attention. While it does not have the traditional Mid-gate technology like the Chevy Avalanche but it does have a different trick up it's sleeve...an under bed "trunk". Just inside the edge of the bed, there is a latch that opens up to a 8.5 cubic foot water-tight trunk capable of handling anything about the same as a small sedan's trunk.

Inside and behind the wheel, the driver will realize right away this is not your average truck. When you floor the right pedal, you can feel he steering wheel tug a bit telling you you're handling a FWD biased truck (who knew they made FWD trucks!). You'll also notice the lack of V8 rumble coming from behind...because there is no V8! But the Ridgeline's 3.5L 247hp V6 will get you moving with decent acceleration, even when on the highway. The interior of the car will also give it away. The interior looks like it was designed by the Honda guys (i.e. good ergonomics, comfort, visibility) and will make just about any driver comfortable.

Retrospective - Shelby Cobra

The Shelby Cobra, brainchild of automotive genius Carroll Shelby took the racing world by storm when it was first introduced. Shelby borrowed the body from the Bristol Roadster from AC Cars and the big, rumblin' V8 from his good friends at Ford. From the beginning, the Cobra put up huge numbers for performance making it one of the more aspirational vehicles of its time. Even today, there are multiple different companies building copies of the original designs for those who never got one when they were a kid. From it's inception to current days, the Cobra will always be remembered as one of the greatest American cars ever made, even better than the Corvette or Mustang.
